Best of San Jose

  • Barrio Escalante

San Jose boasts a foodie paradise in its quaint, but hip neighborhood of Barrio Escalante that has many delicious restaurants. Some of our favorites include Kalú, Saúl Bistro Escalante and, of course, the Costa Rica Beer Factory.
  • Museums

While San Jose is vibrant in its city feel, it’s rich in culture, too. While visiting the city, check out some must-see museums like the Jade Museum (which hosts the largest collection of American Jade), the Gold Museum, the Museum of Costa Rican Art or the Costa Rican National Museum.
  • The Feria Verde de Aranjuez

Taking in a local farmer’s market is always at the top of our off-the-beaten-path list. The Feria Verde de Aranjuez is a weekly farmer’s market where visitors and locals can buy fresh produce, organic coffee, artisanal chocolate and so much more! The market is held every Saturday in San Jose.
